After the roaring success of Del Webb's first community, the bulder moved down the road and built its second Retirement Community called Sun City West. This wonderful community is located in the North West Valley of Phoenix, Arizona, in Maricopa County. It's virtually across the street from Sun City Grand. It is considered one of the most popular and affordable retirement communities in the area. Del Webb began building the community in 1978. The community sits on 7,100 acres with almost 17,000 homes.
